Severed Steel is a single-player FPS featuring a fluid stunt system, destructible voxel environments, loads of bullet time, and a unique one-armed protagonist. It’s you, your trigger finger, and a steel-toed boot against a superstructure full of bad guys. Chain together wall runs, dives, flips, and slides to take every last enemy down. Play as Steel, a nimble, one-armed sharpshooter on a mission. There is no reloading – pick your shots well and be ready to pry a loaded weapon from your enemies’ cold dead hands. Dodge bullets, leap off walls, slide kick, throw weapons. do whatever it takes to come out on top in intense and frenzied firefights. Pepper through plaster with sharp 4.7 mm rounds, punch through thick concrete with .50 cal slugs, or make big holes in things with your arm cannon. No two battles are the same thanks to dynamic, unscripted, squad-based AI. Chase high scores and fast times for leaderboard acclaim in this arcade-styled mode. Features 30 levels, each with their own sub-challenges, and over 20 unlockable, game modifying ‘Mutators’. Blast through six compact story chapters as you battle against the forces of nefarious mega-corporation, EdenSys. Underrated, Adrenaline fueled gem with a rewarding, fun and fluid gameplayloop which leaves room for personal expression by allowing users to finish levels they way they want to, got a problem? blow it up? chasing the highscore? Headshots. The Campaign can be finished within less than 2 hours easily, the meat is in the firefight mode which is like oldschool arcade fps gameplaytype. If you enjoy replaying stories or levels to beat your highscores or for higher difficulties, it’s definitely worth to get. If that’s not your thing, this might not be the game for you. Either way, I personally enjoy flying around like a crack addicted spider monkey. This is an awesome experience. It’s been a long time since an action game has given me the kind of rush that this one does. The great action-movie mechanics, the incredible soundtrack and the wonderful stylised art all come together to make an experience straight out of kickass action films. If you want to squeeze every last drop out of this game I HIGHLY recommend playing this on Severed Steel difficulty from the start. It’ll frustrate you at first, it’ll take a while to get the hang of it, but when it finally clicks and you start pulling off and chaining together ridiculously cool combat stunts, that’s when the “wow” factor and adrenaline rush kick in hard.
